I'm a relative newbie to both relational databases and Informix. By various twists of fate, I ended up being a dba in addition to other chores, and this book has indeed been a survival guide. It's thorough, useful, well-written and well-indexed (that last bit is absolutely essential in a computer book). Some of my other Informix books live on the shelf, this one is always on my desk somewhere.
