It covers a lot of tools and solution to problems that I didn't know about, but it still can't replace Microsoft's knowledge base.

This book is excellent if what you need is a compendium of standard features of & options for Windows XP. If, however, you're already thuroughly familiar with Win XP, and are seeking help with those odd issues (e.g. how to automatically sync Outlook Contacts across all user accounts on a one PC or on a single LAN), you will, alas, not find that in this book.

This book covers details that you do not find in other books about windows. I use it as a reference book when I need to do something specific. Good to have around.

This book will tell you more than you ever wanted to know about Windows XP. It's very long, but can be used as a reference - it's not meant to be simply read straight through. The included CD contains many useful tools.
