This book is based on the objectives of Microsoft MCSE Exam 70-227, which is already in development at Microsoft as part of the MCSE 2000 curriculum.
It covers all relevant exam material. This will not just prepare individuals to answer questions on an exam, but will help the individual understand the product and learn to work with it. It covers the exam objectives as outlined by the exam creators, not just with pat textbook answers, but with explanations, examples, and discussion focused on real-world implementation.

I read this book and the Syngress book. This book has many typos, at least one of which could confuse the reader, it is very poorly organized, and it doesn't cover many details needed for the test. I was unimpressed with this book. I felt like I had wasted my money. The Syngress book was a little better.

Not impressed. I understand Firewalls very well and some people may even refer to me as an expert. I hoped to learn about ISA by Step by Step examples. Unfortunately this book lacks well explained examples, descriptions and details. I needed to configure ISA to publish (and protect) my internal web sites but found only one poorly explained Step by Step Example on this subject. The example referred to other Step by Step examples which I found to be very confusing. I do not recommend this book.

As with a lot of books this book does a great job of getting you familiar with the basics. It is very well written. However, it doesn't bridge the gap, which is true with a lot of books, between being simple and adequately preparing for the exam.

This is a great book. Intelligently laid out and easyt o follow. The only prerquiisite for reading this book is to have an understanding the basic concepts of a Windows 2000 domain and (more importantly) Active Directory. Understanding what environment the product is expected to be installed in is a big help. Even with extremely limited knowledge of 2000 and Active Directory, I was able to follow along with this book.
The best feature of this book are in the question. Not only to you have rewiew questions with answers, but an explaination of why letter A is right and letters B,C and D are wrong.
My only complaint about the layout of the book is with the tables and diagrams. Some are hard to understand, unccessary or just make no sense at all. I could do without the usless pictures and keep the well laid out diagrams that do appear in the book.
Overall, this is a fanstastic book and will serve your quest for ISA knowledge very well
