This book is good for people who are new to Ableton. It is not an exhaustive reference. Once you are comfortable with the program you will not need this book.
You can learn Ableton with the included tutorials and online resources. This book is a nice supplement but it is not indispensable.

Ableton Live is a powerful DAW with lots of innovative features. In order to get the most out of it you need to have a good in-depth understanding of all its capability. This book provides lots of solid information and you can download accompanying lessons which makes it very easy to follow along. I also have the previous book covering Live 6. Both books are very helpful. Bottom Line: If you have Ableton Live you should have one of these books.

This book is the best out there for teaching you intermediate Ableton Live 7. From page 1 until the end Jon explains the essentials to a great detail for which he is known for, both in his publications and music productions. I had the pleasure of taking an electronic music production class using Ableton Live 7 that he teaches at dubspot in NYC and I was amazed by the depth of his knowledge of Live 7. Not only he knows every minute detail of the software but he also can explain it efficiently and clearly and always give examples on how it can be used when remixing or composing, and this is reflected in the book. I would recommend this book to everyone, beginner to expert, and even go as far as to recommend every future publication of this great author, teacher, and musician.
