Overall it is a good book. I wouldn't recommend it for programming beginners but to someone already with some programming knowledge because in many points something imprecise is written followed by the right explanation immediately after, creating some confusion to newbies to figure out and grasp the concept.
Besides that and the lack of exercises to pratice the subjects, it is a worth reading book. The Kerningham and Richie's original book on this topic is definitely the approach to take as a first read.
