Mr. Siebert's book is a high quality roadmap to VMware Virtual Infrastructure 3. The book does a great job of starting with what you currently have and the benefits of virtualization. It is a systematic approach with critical insight on planning and building (I have seen many projects fail due to a lack of a strong foundation). I particularly appreciated the highlighted "By the way" and "Did you know?" comments; the comments are brief and often contain critical bits of information.
Siebert's book is a reference for the seasoned veterans, newcomers, and solution specialists providing information to decision makers. I highly recommend it.

This is an excellent reference for VMware Virtual Infrastructure administrators. It covers planning, configuration, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your virtual data center running on VMware. The concepts are clear with procedures to accomplish common operations. It also includes Best Practice sections to optimize your virtual infrastructure. This is the first book I'd open when a problem arises with my virtual infrastructure.
