Easy & Approachable, 2009-05-01
Reviewer rating:
I wanted to learn more about Excel, and this book helped me do that. Prior to reading this book, I had been familiar with the basics of Excel - using it on a regular basis to organize information and to create tables - but I knew that I was missing out on a lot of the things Excel could do. I looked at a stack of books advertised to teach me what I needed to know, but every other book I looked at was either too basic or too difficult for me. This book was definitely geared toward people who have the basics, but who aren't computer gurus. I found the information simple to understand. Unlike the other reviewers who argue that there should be example data, I didn't think that was necessary. In my opinion, the step-by-step instructions provided were sufficient. Also, I love the organization of the book - topics are grouped very conveniently so that when I need to refer back to the book, I will be able to find what I am looking for very easily.
Product Arrived Timely & As Advertised by Amazon , 2008-12-14
Reviewer rating:
Product arrived timely, as advertised in good shape. I would Highly Recommend this seller and if I had need for a product that this seller was advertising via AmaZon, I would purchase again.
Disappointing, 2008-02-13
Reviewer rating:
I was really excited about this book but ended up being quite disappointed. My biggest issue was that there was no disk or website where I could download some of the examples. A lot of times I don't use the disk however given the summarized information, it was important to have here. Second, the first couple of tips were good but they were more advanced and would be difficult for a beginner Excel user to follow unless they already knew the feature from the 2003 version. The book should have started with simpler tips and tricks and then hit the advanced concepts.
Awesome book but it's missing something, 2008-01-01
Reviewer rating:
I love this book, why? Well for one thing it's very colorful and it's easy to follow. I've had different versions of Microsoft Excel in the past but when they released the new Office 2007, I totally decided to buy a tutorial since it's worth learning a product that I really appreciate. The majority of the books on computers that I have bought comes with a book website where users can download practice files or code. I know this is not a programming book however it would be nice if I can download the excel workbook so I can go along with the lessons. The other excel book does not contain these goodies but I'm still going to give this a good rating.
