I thought this book did an excellent job of explaining to all skill levels the details of search engine optimization. It reads more like a candid and frank discussion of the importnat principles than it does a list of the things to do to get your page to show up first, but I feel much better positioned to create more user freindly and search frieldnly pages than I did before reading this book.

I highly recommend this book. My website was not even appearing for my targeted search words when I originally purchased it. Now it's on the second and third pages for my two targeted keywords. Additionally, this helped me get my site indexed by yahoo and msn. I've gotten a lot of increased traffic since following these recommendations.
The book is also easy to read, it's not designed for techies.

I've read several "Dummies" books in the past with mixed feelings, but this was a tremendous book for an SEO novice. My goal when picking up this book wasn't to become an SEO expert; it was to become conversational with SEO professionals. I also wanted to understand the field well enough so that I could help ensure that SEO would not be overlooked on any website or ebusiness I worked on in the future. This book definitely helped me get there. I was thoroughly impressed with the author's obviously comprehensive knowledge and experience in the field, and just as impressed with his ability to make it understandable. The cool thing is that my definition of SEO has broadened a great deal as has my understanding. In addition, there are a ton of resources (websites and applications) that can be used for future reference. So, I plan to read additional books on SEO, but I'm certain that I will be referring back to this book repeatedly. Lastly, it gave me a bunch of ideas that I want to pursue for my company's website.

I have been blogging for some time. But my blog was only creeping up in popularity. It was an invisible spot in cyberspace. After reading only the first three chapters, I learned how to submit my blog to the Interet so that it would be highly visible. And I learned about keyword rankings, and how to make the best use of these in my title and my writing.
Thanks

While it does start from scratch assuming you know nothing, I found that this book was the most helpful in filling in the gaps of what I already knew. Super easy to understand and I sat with it open next to me as I went through my site during certain sections.
