In the case of ARM-based chipsets such as the OMAP platform from Texas Instruments described in Section 5.3, the next few years will see further performance enhancement of all subcomponents. In 2008, most high-end devices using ARM and OMAP products are based on the ARM 11 processor family and the OMAP 2 platform with processor speeds between 330 and 400MHz. The OMAP 3 architecture will exceed this performance by using an ARM Cortex processor which is expected to be up to three times faster at the same clock speed as current ARM 11 processors.
