I've learned so much from this book I don't know where to start so I won't bother. All I can say is, if you own an iPhone you must get this book. Hope he does an update for the 3Gs. I'm sure there's lots of new and hidden features I don't know about.

Dissapointed in Amazon - 2009-09-05

New to the iPhone scene and purchased a 3GS 2 wks ago. Bought this book written for the 3G not realizing that it was out of date for my phone. My fault. Even the suggested items from Amazon to purchase did not show the latest Pouge book for the 3GS. Had no idea it was available. I simply searched Amazon for iPhone accessories and found this book. Am getting some usefulness from this book but would have appreciated an Amazon nanny pop up to let me know it was not the latest version from Pouge on this device. So what did I do, send this book back? No. I am reading it and I bought the latest version for the 3GS from another online retailer. Will not use Amazon any time soon again. LOL.

David Pogue Is The Very Best Tech Writer - 2009-08-26

I watch Pogue's technical videos, shown on the New York Times videos' page, and also read his manuals. They are all excellent. This one may be his very best. I discovered tons of things I hadn't figured out on my iphone just by going through this easy to use book. You can hold the iphone in one hand and go through your manual with the other and easily try new things as you go. I read this in ebook format on my macbook while holding my iphone with my other hand. Pogue also has an excellent sense of humor which is usually absent in technical writing. Having used this book to good effect, I promptly got his Leopard Mac OS Missing Manual book too. It is also terrific. There is not a single question I had about the iphone that this book did not answer. It's rare when a book accomplishes this. I use every aspect of my iphone. I primarily bought it because it was a first rate computer, not because it was a phone. So this book had to cover every use well.
