"Perfect for the non-techie" - by Anonymous on 06-FEB-2010

First, a bit about me:  I am a computer enthusiast who has been using computers for over 20 years.  I am not a computer programmer or a system/network administrator.  From the point of view of a non-techie, this book is excellent:  The full-breadth of topics - from installation to use of the O/S - is covered, in a straightforward and entertaining way.  Before reading this book, I figured I had a good understanding of how Windows works.  How wrong I was!  By covering each topic in a meticulous and thoroughgoing way, William Stanek virtually ensures you will learn something here.  The real plus from my perspective is learning how to troubleshoot common problems (like programs not working, IRQ/DMA resource allocation issues, etc.) and learning about all the new features of Windows 7.  If you are interested in learning more about Windows 7 and have the time to read, then this book is for you!
