The Social Media Marketing Book provides an overall picture of the social media landscape with enough clarity to help you develop an effective strategy.

They could have added a PR section, and included sites like PRWeb.com.

If you actually use any of the mainstream social media sites like facebook, youtube and twitter, you probably don't need to read this book.  The vast majority of the content simply explains which sites exist and how they work but gives surprisingly few ideas on how to actually leverage them.  I'd reccomend this to my 65 year old father but not to any practicing marketer.  Thank goodness for Safari so I didn't buy the book outright.
