A well written concise guide explains the main features of Mac OS X Snow Leopard clearly, logically and quickly. I keep a copy in both cars to read while waiting at appointments. 219 narrow pages gets to the point quicker than the usual 1000 pages. Inexpensive and great for starters. Get one with other orders to get over the Amazon $25 free shipping limit! A handy gift for Mac friends.

Has all the essentials. Not as comprehensive as the The Missing Manual, but that's too big to read through. This book is great for anyone new to Mac as a thorough introduction and is great for anyone except a Mac expert for a quick reference.

This little book paid for itself the first time I opened it. It has earned itself a space on my desk beside my Mac.

The book describes many features of OS 10.6 in considerable detail, but skips others entirely. In addition, I found several operational errors in the descriptions. There are better books out there that provide a more complete description of the product in more detail and better accuracy.

I purchased the pocket guide as an ebook via the iTunes App Store for $1.99. After skimming it, I realized it is useful as introductory material. But, I still purchased David Pogue's OS X Snow Leopard: The Missing Manual for more thorough information last night. I will finish the pocket guide before starting the big book, and, keep it on my iPhone as a quick reference. If you don't read ebooks, I would consider it worthwhile to purchase this book in paperback to get an overview of Snow Leopard.
