Not a fan of MS Press titles generally - but this one is very good...provides excellent information on how to design and deploy VS 2005 solutions, as well as nice technical 'under the hood' information. As usual the timing is odd given that Windows 2008 isnt that far off (thinking of Schurmans' LCS 2005 book)...so one wonders about the longevity of VS 2005. But still - an excellent book, and the accompanying DVD is very useful. This along with Ben Armstrongs book are all you need. 5 stars all the way....

For very little money Microsoft provides a (1) detailed instruction manual; (2) "how to" VBScript Virtual Server introduction; and (3) planning guideline. I found the book informative, especially the concrete planning recommendations, e.g., RAM, CPU, disk, etc.
It is NOT an expert's guide to Virtual Server automation and management.
A must have for anyone doing virtualization - 2007-09-19

This book has it all. The in-depth information on Virtual Server is great, but what really sets this book apart is the guidance on how to consolidate. From identifying consolidation candidates to migration, this book will put you on the right track.
Don't miss the great tools and utilities on the companion CD either, like VMRC Plus!

There is no course or manual/tutorial that comes with Virtual Server. I needed to fill in the information gaps. Although you can find information at various URLs on the Microsoft web site, I was looking for a single source and found it in this book.
