This book will definitely prepare you for the A+ exam but there are some incorrect answers in the book which can confuse you if you know that they are wrong. Overall good study material but I did not use this as my only source. Still it was good just a few wrong answers..

This was a gift purchase. I asked the person this was purchased for to give me their thoughts. They said it was a good book, difficult, but then so is the test its prepping you for.

I used this book along with the Sybex set to pass the A+ certification tests.(601 & 602) The Exam Cram book's questions are structured like the real test, getting you mentally prepared for that annoying choose the "best" answer thing.

Best A+ Test Practice - 2009-06-26

I recently took the Essentials and the IT Technician exams about one month apart. I have decent experience networking from years ago (4+) in the military. I recently decided to make a career move back into IT and the A+ cert. is my first. I bought the ExamCram just looking for a good book to test my knowledge and show me where I was lacking. I didn't have to buy another.

I spent a few months going through the book and the provided Measure-Up software before taking the exams. I passed both exams above 800. I passed the Essentials with an 816 and the IT Technician with an 847. There were many similarities in questions between the book and the exam.

The software is funky to use as it doesn't break the questions down in to the separate tests like the book, but it allows you to take all the questions in one exam, then it has a setting that only asks you the questions you missed on the last practice test. This was my strategy.

All the complaints aside, I'm giving the book five stars for being extremely realistic in mimicking the real exam, which is what you want... right?
