If you can't read on youtube their rules I guess you can buy this book.
Because all it does is regurgitate the obvious and add in a few geek terms. DON"T waste your money

Most books of this kind are quickies turned out by hack writers who scoop up stuff from the web and regurgitate for those too lazy or inexperienced to do the same thing.

But there are occasional gems like this one. Michael Miller may be prolific with more than 80 how-to books to his credit, but he is also professional in his approach and a skillful writer.

He tackles the cocnept of using YouTube for business in a very methodical way. He walks the reader through the reasons for using YouTube, the basics of video production, managing your online videos, video blogging and promotion and monetization.

Obviously those who know their way in production can skip those pages, but on the whole, Miller's book is well-worth reading in its entirety. Even though it covers many basic areas, Miller is an informative writer who never conscends. This is a book on using YouTube to market your business and Miller never lets that object out of sight. He also includes a few profiles of real-life users of YouTube mrketing videos that are quite compelling.

Overall this is a solid read for anyone with even the vaguest interest in exploiting YouTube for their own business interests.

Probably too basic for most, Great for a non-technical newbie - 2009-05-01

A bit too basic but solid concepts to help position your business on Youtube. Very useful for a small business owner who may be never to the internet or new at exploring social media, social networking, and emerging technology, widgets, gadgets, etc. haha. For most advanced users, this is certainly too simplistic and more of a 'how does it work' functionality then useful tools to help make money or position yourself, your brand, or your company on the web through youtube. I did really like the case studies used which helped to get my creative juices flowing.

Very good introductory text - 2009-10-26

As a mortgage broker, much of my time is spent deciding how best to generate new business. We have been using streaming video successfully for over a year, but only on our own site. We know we can get wider distribution of our content using social media (including YouTube), so I invested the huge sum of $16.47 and bought this book, hoping to get at least the basics of how best to leverage a YouTube presence.

I was very pleasantly surprised to find that the book exceeded my expectations. I didn't find pages upon pages of "filler, tellig me things I already knew, like how to plug a webcam into a USB port. Instead, I found some practical tips on good video production--and, most importantly, a lot of discussion about the social aspects of YouTube: how to create an audience base for my videos.

The book is well organized and well written. I took just a couple of hours the first time through, highlighting sections for later review.

Highly recommended.

This book is exactly what I needed. He spoke in simple terms, but provided great detail and valuable information. He covered every detail. I feel very comfortable about my knowledge of YouTube operations, making my videos, uploading, editing, and the whole process. I highly recommend this book.
