I am an experienced .Net developer whose front-end presentation skills are less than stellar. I purchased Expression Studio because my current project needs a sharp, modern front-end to go with all my sharp, modern C# code. I've used Dreamweaver, but it doesn't integrate well with the C# web application that underpins this site. Enter Expression Web, about which I know what cats know about calculus. Or rather, that's what I did know. After working through this book, I am in love with the tool and confident of my ability to create a great presentation layer to go with my funcionality.
In my career I have started learning nearly every new tool with a Sams "24-hour" book. It's a technique that doesn't fail, and this book is no exception. I am on hour 11 after only 6 hours of work because I knew some of this already, but even if it took the whole 24 hours it would still be a lightning-fast ramp-up.
The book's writing is clear, entertaining, and the examples are effective and well-presented for a beginner without making you feel as if "beginner"="stupid. An excellent offering in an excellent series. I will certainly look for other books by this author as well.
