Vista is rife with usability and compatibility issues that
frustrate even the most seasoned system techs. If you only buy one
book on Windows, this is the one. You won't find tried and
true Vista coverage anywhere else. Find out how to make Windows
work with you and not against you with Upgrading and Repairing
Microsoft Windows, Second Edition. On the DVD The DVD contains two hours of all new,
studio quality video–playable in your set-top DVD player and
your computer! Scott digs deep into both Windows Vista and Windows
XP. Topics include the differences between all of the various
Windows editions and versions, coverage of the most important

with XP instead. Also covered are Vista and XP

product activation, and more. Scott Mueller is the most trusted,

Reader Reviews From Amazon (Ranked by 'Helpfulness') Average Customer Rating: based on 10 reviews. Pleased with purchase, 2009-05-11 Reviewer rating: I work as an IT Assistant. I ordered this book because I also have Upgrading and Repairing PC's by this same author. I have already had a few chances to use the excellent advice, and help inside this book. I am very happy with my purchase! | Upgrading and Repairing Microsoft Wondows (2nd edition), 2009-03-22 Reviewer rating: I found the book up to date and well researched. The nice illustrations are are a big help. | Good book, 2009-03-10 Reviewer rating: Windows is covered very well in this book. The DVD is great too, especially the section on how to slipstream updates and drivers into the XP installation process. | Great Book, 2008-11-16 Reviewer rating: This has got to be one of the best books I have read on Windows. If you really want to get into the nitty gritty of your operating system then this is the one for you. Scott Mueller writes in clear and precise language that you can understand, and gives steps on how to not only repair but to upgrade Windows. It also comes with a DVD that covers Vista's SP 1, can't ask for anymore than that. It is truly an awesome read. | Upgrading and Repairing Microsoft Windows (2nd Edition) (Upgrading and Repairing), 2008-11-10 Reviewer rating: Customers BEWARE!!! If you intend on purchasing this Book from Amazon and intend on ordering the HARDBACK Edition, then I suggest that you go to your local Book Store instead of purchasing it from Amazon! I had to order this Book TWICE through Amazon and in EACH instance I informed Amazon that I wanted the HARDBACK Edition! What I ended up receiving however was the PAPERBACK Edition, BOTH TIMES! Even the receipt that I received from Amazon with my Order indicated that it was supposed to be a HARDBACK Edition! Apparently Amazon is either hiring High-School Drop-Outs who CANNOT READ or they are like most large companies and they are hiring immigrants who have just arrived into the United States and do not understand the English Language very well! This is NOT the first time that I have run into problems with ordering from Amazon but I can assure you that it will be my LAST! |
