For sure Tracy is one of the best speakers and authors of our time. I had very high expectation of this book, but got disappointed, that it had tried to cover too wide an audience and particulars (from small group to big crowd, and even about stage/equipment setting) which resulted an absence of flair a reader can always find in his other books. If you had never read any book on public speaking beforehand, this can be an acceptable beginning. However, if you want something of the intermediate or advanced level, please give this a pass.
p.s. Normally I can find plenty of good quotes, memorable sound bites and practical key points in the author's books. However, I only found one impressive in this, which is "We cannot make it rain, but we can see to it that the rain falls on prepared soil. - Henri Nouwen pg144"

I was eager to read this book right after completing Robert Kiyosaki's "Rich Dad Poor Dad" and boy was i disappointed. The main reason that i finished reading this book was just so i could check it off my list of books to read. The organization of chapters in the book is very poor; I was forced to read them out of order so i could make *some* sense out of it. Don't get me wrong, i am fully aware that Brian Tracy is one of the greatest speakers of our time (or so i've heard). This book shows, however, that writing might not be his forte.
Another gripe i developed while reading along was the general tone of the book. It reads like a textbook designed for 10 year olds. I still cant get over the section that explains that "small group meetings are important"--how insightful.
To the credit of the book, i did find it interesting to learn that hotel staff are so dishonest. There were similar tidbits of gold scattered in a few chapters. I guess i'll keep those in mind for my future dealings.

I have not yet read the book, but it was an easy transaction and received quickly. I have cracked it open and skimmed some of it. It looks to be just what I wanted.
