I see alot of familiar material from other authors in this book. Time Power by Dr. Charles Hobbs is alot better and closer to the truth without the padding. Dr. Hobbs was published in 1974. I wonder at the uncanny resemblence of book titles.

I have been a fan of Brian Tracy for years but didn't know about this book until seeing it on a friend's bookshelf recently. If you have read other books by Brian or studied his audio programs, much of this will be familiar to you. Still, if you're not doing everything you can to manage your time, it's worth reading.
Brian Tracy is great because he not only tells you what you should be doing, but explains WHY you may not be doing it. This book is a good mixture of strategies you can use now and big picture psychology.
If you like Brian Tracy, you'll like this book. I borrowed my friend's copy, but had I paid for it, it would have paid for itself within a day.
Work Longer and Harder - 2009-07-25

While there are many bits of good advice that Brian Tracy offers here, many are common to many other time management books (avoid idle chatter in the office, start with the end in mind, turn off the phone, etc.). Plus I am not impressed that his bottom line seems to be that if you want to get more done, work longer and harder. (Maybe "harder" is a harsh word... maybe "more efficiently" is a better term.) But his advice to work for a few hours at home before going to the office, arrive an hour early at the office, and stay an extra hour after work seems to defeat the whole purpose of using effective time management. While this may be the ultimate secret to increased production, I believe anybody buying a book on time management doesn't want to be told that working longer is the secret to productivity. Yes, I know that Tracy's point is that working at home or before and after normal business hours results in more productivity because of fewer distractions, but I want to maximize my eight hours at work without taking away time from my family, friends and church. So I'll pick out some bits of Tracy's advice, but not buy into expanding my hours at work.

Instead of giving a "system" per book title, this book is full of tactical yet helpful advice to increase one's productivity in various conditions. Those who had read books about time management and/or others works of the author may not be satisfied. However, I am quite sure that those who first look into the subject can find over 50% of what they want.
