Dancing

The couple’s first dance together and any dances they might do with their parents are fun to shoot. When you are shooting photo, look primarily for the subjects’ expressions, but go for some fun shots, too: feet, hands on back, guests watching. If your shutter speed is high, you can shoot in bursts and get clear shots—especially handy for the nuanced changes in expression. Experiment with a slightly lower shutter speed, too, for some intentionally blurred motion. Dances tend to end with a big hug, so position yourself to catch expressions there, too. Remember, you’ll probably have to pick one person to focus on and get the shoulder of the other one.
