Overview

Over the past quarter century, Paul Barry has used lots of different programming languages on lots of different platforms. In this presentation, Paul discusses what it is about his current favorite language--Python--that makes it a stand-out programming technology for him. Paul discusses those Python features that are "pearls", in his opinion. You may not agree with all of Paul's picks, but we hope you'll find Paul's discussion interesting, enlightening and maybe even entertaining.

Waste of time. Watch if you enjoy listening to someone hack up their lungs for an hour.

A "so-so" video.

The first half covers features that any programmer knows after a couple of weeks of programming with Python. The second half is a collection of plugs for various books and technologies, basically amounting to "this is cool".

Annoyances: Paul has an awful cold during the lecture, always coughing. Video streaming unreliable compared to other Safari videos I've watched.
