Safari Books Online is a digital library providing on-demand subscription access to thousands of learning resources.
As we move from an offline world to an online world, applications are becoming more complex and the lack of file system access has been a hindrance for moving the web forward. Storing or interacting with binary data shouldn't be limited to the desktop. Thankfully, it no longer is thanks to the FileSystem API. With the FileSystem API, a web app can create, read, navigate, and write to a sandboxed section of the user's local file system. It opens the door for a while new seat of web applications.
