I used this as a refresh for some forgotten classes I took back in '05. It is an excellent resource for both newbies and intermediate learners. It also works fairly well as a reference book if you mark the pages along the way. This book is well written and easy to read/understand. I liked it enough to also buy the printed edition.

I am 57 years old and have dabbled in electronics since I was a teenager and have always meant to actually LEARN about Electronics so I can understand the theory and maths behind it. I know what various components do and can build a circuit from a diagram but thats where it ended.
On buying this book I realised that, although I could skip the first 2 or three chapters as I already had that knowledge, I was soon learning very useful stuff put across in a manner that is both interesting and easy to understand.
A MUST HAVE book for the complete begginer or for those wishing to further dip thier toes in the feild of Electronics.

I have always been interested in electronics. I had a basic understanding of many of the basic components, but I never understood how or why they fit together to preform a task. This book really helped me understand enough to start me down the road. The section at the end with the PICAXE microcontroller was icing on the cake. I was up and running on my own project in no time at all.
