Come on, snorting sounds into the mic that distorts the sound and cheap sound mic with compression artifacts all over the tinny-sounding dialog. Pro anyone?

This is the first tutorial video I have seen where the quality and the pace of lectures are simply amazing. The production is high quality and both the video and audio shows it.
I love how Tony introduces problems throughout the training and then shows you how to solve it. I love this task manager so much that I am actually using it as my daily todo list manager. Thanks to Tony Hillerson and O'Reilly for putting this video course online.

I know a few basics about Java, but even without that the videos are quite easy to follow. A couple of times I lost track because the speed increased, but since you can easily rewind the video a bit that is not a problem. I like that the instructor does introduce the programming environment Eclipse from scratch, which was a good help for me. He shows a lot of tricks how Eclipse makes a programmers' life easier. And the "Task Manager" program, that is created during the course, is a good real-life example that shows the important basics.

I would recommend it to any programmer looking to have their toes tickled by an android. The organization of information along with the example used really advanced my understanding of exactly how an Application should be written. This comes after reading a couple "first few chapter" introductions in the Safari Books library as well as one other not available here. If you are just starting with Android, I recommend saving the books as reference and watching these videos as the means for understanding basic Android Application architecture. You'll be writing programs much sooner.
