I have been looking for a book that actually explains how to use the PayPal API's with real examples -- but this book just regurgitates what you find on PayPal/x.com.

OK, so the adaptive payment section pretty much is worthless.  It essentially copies/pastes most of the code that PayPal provides you, along with whatever PayPal provides from their documentation.

I'm in the middle of coding up PayPal Adaptive payments and this doesn't really help explain anything or give any real code examples.
