The Express web application framework for Node strikes the ideal balance between a robust framework and no framework at all. So many web frameworks try to do so much that they become inflexible and overly complicated, having a negative effect on both learning curve and ability to customize. Express takes a much more agnostic approach, allowing developers a free hand in their architecture choices. It is a joy to work with, and this book is designed not only to introduce the framework, but also to provide some guidance about how to go about doing things that more elaborate (and inflexible) frameworks provide.

Though using Handlebars as a templating engine in Express is an odd choice, this book is a good introduction to building web apps with Express and Node.
