I'm responsible for managing a team of sales professional and always looking for ideas to improve the productivity of my team as well get the best out of the tools we have invested in. We've been using [....] for over 2 years now and most of my team members have learned the application through self discovery.
I came across this book and bought it because the product description claimed that - "With this quick, to-the-point resource, you won't just be "up and running" in [...]; you'll be an expert!" However I found the book to be for complete beginners - not just [...] but beginners to computers.
If you are new to computers and need step by step help with creating leads, accounts, etc, then this book may be for you. I believe my dad would fit into this category because he has to even struggle with printing a word document. If you've been using computers for some time, the usability of [....] is so good that you won't really need any help in doing all the tasks explained in this book.
Going by the title of the book "Maximizing Your Sales..." I thought maybe I'll get some tips and tricks to improve productivity of my [...] so that they can spend more time on sales than managing data. That wasn't the case. The book was a complete waste of time. Usually in the worst of books you do find a few pages of information that is worth the time invested in browsing through the book. Unfortunately this book wasn't even at that level.
If you do need a book to get started with [....], I would recommend [...] for Dummies".

Ed Kachinski has a unique ability as a practicing CRM consultant to zero in on what is important from an end-user perspective in how to use [...] for maximum effectiveness.
I have read all of his books and always start there first as I know he takes an in depth view.

This book is, without question, a must have if you are using SalesForce.com.
The content, the format and writing style are all fantastic.
I wouldn't change one thing. And there was not one topic or tip that was left out.
An Excellent Purchase. Thank you.

Mr Kachinske, along with S Roach, C Gilliland and T Kachinske, have put together another excellent guide on getting the most out of a popular CRM package - in this case salesforce.com. Salesforce.com itself may be all sizzle and no steak, but their book shows you how to get the most out of a product that is long on hype and short on substance. I bought this based on my experience with their MS CRM, BCM and ACT books, and was not disappointed. If you're turned off or worse, offended, by the hokeyness of the 'Dummies' series, you'll appreciate the serious, no nonsense POV taken by the authors. I recommend the book, though not the product.
