STEP 2: WRITE THE WEB CONTENT

Believe it or not, it’s not all that difficult to write your own Web site content. You don’t need to be a journalist or a professional writer to do it. In fact, I’ve had entrepreneurs in my seminars write a five-page Web site in as little as one hour (although two hours is probably more realistic).

When you are writing the content for your Web site, only one rule applies: be brief, using the simplest language possible. Don’t try to be fancy, or academic, or extra professional. Just describe your business and your service in a conversational tone. That not only makes it easier to read, but will also make it easier for you to write.

No Writing Experience?

Don’t worry if you don’t have any writing experience—or even a college degree. You can still write your own Web content. Web content is actually quite simple and straightforward to write. Just take a deep breath, get your pen working, and try the easy exercises in this section.
