Publishing Your Site Using a Computer-Based Software

If you have created your Web site using a software on your own computer, you need to get the files transferred from your computer to your Web host. There are a couple of ways to do this:

» Through a “Publish” function or wizard in your software

» Through a designated link on your Web hosting site

» Through an FTP site

If your software offers a “Publish” function, or wizard, use it—it will be the simplest way to get the files transferred. It will walk you through the steps, one at a time, for transferring the files to your Web host. It will also establish your files and preferences for later usage, in case you decide to edit or change content and designs at a future date. Using the software’s “Publish” function will also allow you to access their Help functionality.
