Product owner leads the effort to formulate the vision for the project with the help of all stakeholders

Product backlog
Product owner gathers high level requirements which includes list of functional and non-functional requirements
Product owner orders/prioritizes the product backlog based on predefined criteria
Product owner keeps the product backlog always up-to-date
Project kick-off
Product owner presents the project vision and initial product backlog with all the stakeholders
The team tries to estimate the product backlog using story points
Team fixes the duration for sprints/iterative cycle (2–4 weeks)
Team calculates initial velocity which is the number of story points that can be executed for each sprint [The detailed explanation of velocity can be found in Chapter 6]
Team groups iterative cycles(Sprints) into releases
