Platform virtualization runtime patterns > Manage Resources Dynamic Runtime pat... - Pg. 80

6.1.3 Manage Resources Dynamic Runtime pattern Figure 6-4 on page 81 represents a dynamic pattern associated with resource management in a grid environment. This pattern, referred to as the Manage Resources Dynamic Runtime pattern, adds another degree of automation. Prior to a workload request being dispatched into the grid, the Matchmaker and Reservation services are invoked to select and reserve Endpoints based upon the Application Requirement Profile, the Workload Request Information Profile, and the Endpoint Profile. The Orchestrator plays a role at dispatching time in determining the minimal set of Endpoints that need to be allocated based upon policies that have been established for the execution of this workload request. The Orchestrator, Provisioner, and Workload Virtualization operate similarly to what is defined for the Intelligent Runtime pattern. However, Workload Virtualization works hand in hand with a new component, the License Manager, to only dispatch workload requests that can acquire from the License Manager the software licenses they require (taking into account the availability of such licenses).
