Chapter 4: User Services > 4.1: Administration and user ID requirements - Pg. 74

4.1 Administration and user ID requirements During the installation, WebSphere Everyplace Deployment creates a local database for the user registry and configures the WebSphere Application Server to use this common user registry for all the application servers installed on the local machine. With the presence of this common user registry, client users only need a single user ID to access both the DB2 Everyplace and Device manager. In addition, during the installation of WebSphere Everyplace Deployment, the installation program prompts for the specification of an administration user ID and password. This user ID is required to log into the DB2 Everyplace Mobile Device Administrative Center, Device Manager Console, and the User Management console. Because WebSphere Everyplace Deployment configures the security for the local machine, the WebSphere Application Server administrative console also requires you to log in using the Everyplace Deployment administrative user ID and password. 4.2 Required user groups During the installation of Everyplace Deployment, the installation program creates two user groups: edsadmins and edssyncusers.
