Configuring the Oracle
VM Management Pack

The last chapter covered the first of several ways to manage the Oracle VM system, through the Oracle VM Manager. The second way to manage the Oracle VM system is via the Oracle VM Management Pack for Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) Grid Control. This management pack allows you to manage virtual machines alongside other components of your enterprise that you are managing, such as databases, application servers, and so on.

This chapter introduces the OEM Grid Control Manager and shows you how to install and use the Oracle VM Management Pack, which you can then use within Grid Control. For those of you who might not be familiar with OEM Grid Control, the chapter begins with a brief overview of Grid Control and how to utilize it.
