Appendix A. IT Project+ Exam Objectives

The IT Project+ examination is designed for information technology (IT) and business professionals involved with IT projects and business projects with a technology component. The examination is designed for candidates possessing at least twelve months of cumulative experience in leading, managing, and directing small- to medium-scale IT projects. IT Project+ examines the business, interpersonal, and technical project management skills required to successfully manage IT projects and business initiatives with a technology component.

The skills and knowledge measured by this examination are derived from an industry-wide job task analysis and validated through an industry-wide survey. The results of this survey were used in weighing the domains and ensuring that the weighting is representative of the relative importance of the content. The exam is in a conventional linear format. There are, as of this writing, 80 questions on the exam, and candidates have 90 minutes to complete them. The exam is available in English only.
