Exercise 2

Q1:Based on the scenario that follows, complete the Research Objectives worksheet to reflect the required questions, sources of information, where you have found the information, and the information you’ve discovered. The first three questions on the Research Objectives worksheet have been provided for you. Try to come up with at least five more pertinent questions about the project. Use any resource you’d like—vendors, your experience, and Internet sites—to complete the questions and create new ones.

You are a project manager for Caulfield Educational Supply Company. You are about to research the validity of a project to implement an Internet server to host your company’s own Internet page. Currently the company’s Internet page is hosted through a third-party hosting company. The average monthly bandwidth transferred is roughly 15 gigabytes. Once the Internet server has been created, a new, commerce-enabled site with database access will be built.

The Internet server you propose must be reliable and easy to implement, and can be from any reputable software vendor. Your company has a fractional Tl line to the local LAN, and Janice, your manager, is concerned that more bandwidth is going to be needed to ensure reliability for all the company’s clients.
