There is no South African tradition involving the exchange of business cards. However, you should treat all business cards with respect.
Remember to present your card with your right hand.
Since English is the major language used in South African business, your cards should be formatted in advance with English on one side.
South Africa’s many minorities include South Asians, who may be Hindus or Muslims. Many Hindus are vegetarians, and pig products are prohibited to observant Muslims. If you expect to do business among this ethnic group, do not keep your cards in an animal-skin card case or wallet.
If your cards are in your wallet, do not keep your wallet in your back trouser pocket.
