Oracle Business Rules 11g includes multiple choices for rule editing:
BPM Studio or JDeveloper BPM Studio (as well as JDeveloper with SOA extensions) includes Rules Editor; all preceding screenshots are from this editor. This editor’s functionality is comprehensive.
Process Composer Process Composer includes business rules authoring along with process and task authoring. In 11g, new dictionaries cannot be created in Process Composer; only existing dictionaries can be authored. Also in 11g, data model and functions cannot be edited within Process Composer. In addition to authoring rules within (pre-deployment) BPM projects that are shared via BPM MDS as described in Chapter 4, business rules deployed in production can also be edited as what is called runtime-changes. (Oracle literature may refer to this as Design Time at Run Time or DT@RT changes.) Process Composer is typically available using the URL http://bpmserver:8001/bpm/composer, where bpmserver is the host name where BPM/SOA server is running and 8001 is the port for the BPM/SOA managed server. Process Composer is shown in Figure 6-38.
