Chapter 7 Working with Master Data > Sorting and Pagination

Sorting and Pagination

When working in the grid, it is useful to understand sorting and pagination.

Sorting

By default, the members in the grid are sorted in ascending order by code. You can click any column heading to sort the members by that column. Click once to sort in ascending order, and again to sort in descending order. You can sort by the values in only one column at a time. Each time you leave the page and return to the grid, the default sort is displayed.

Pagination

Pagination is important to understand because it affects how you update members. Some actions update the members on the displayed page only, while other actions update all members, whether they’re displayed or not.

The drop-down list on the left controls how many members are displayed on the current page. Change this as needed. The number of records is then displayed, followed by arrows that you use to page through the members.
