Since I started in this business almost 30 years ago, technology has caused the reach of media to become greater and greater. This explosion of media coverage—first through 24-hour cable TV news coverage and then through the Internet—has greatly extended the exposure of companies and organizations to crises of all kinds. Meaning today there is more chance of damage, and more need for crisis management.
