Infrastructure Challenges

AEG had a tremendously strong Infrastructure group. They were able to provide resources and support throughout the project. The IT team and CIO were very influential. They had quite a bit of influence over the business processes as they affected systems. The CIO came from a large company and was very experienced. The IT group insisted on providing a project manager to the team. He was new to this type of implementation, but was confident he could drive the project to resolution. One benefit was that they were not afraid to escalate issues to the project sponsor. However, he was not about to cross the SMEs. He wanted to move forward in the company, and making enemies with two people he perceived as in a powerful position was not something he was going to be engaged in. This would make him press the consulting team more to compensate for the issues of the project.
