Oracle FDM Security

Since FDM is such a critical part of most HFM implementations, it is important to include the security impact of FDM as well. Since FDM functionally is different than HFM, the security is quite a bit different.

There are two securable components of FDM:

Image Object Controls access to web menu and form items (objects). The application menus, menu items, forms, and form components are referred to as objects. Each application object is assigned a default role (access level). These defaults are based upon an average FDM implementation and can be customized. As in HFM, FDM application objects employ “metadata” filtering based on the role assigned.

Image Location Controls access to FDM locations and data. Each user must be assigned to at least one location or more. A user must be assigned to a default location even when only assigned to one location.
