One in 25 new employees quits on the first day.1 Talk about a waste of time and money! A statistic like this one really makes you think about what goes wrong in the recruiting, hiring, and onboarding processes. Your first thought might be that this statistic is not actually so surprising, considering the number of unprofessional and unreliable people in the world. One out of 25 people is bound to be flakey, right? While I agree there are, of course, people who are considerably less reliable than others, the most important point is that employers thought highly enough of these people to hire them in the first place. These hiring mishaps show something went wrong in the recruiting process.
