The Centrality of Continuity During Expansion

The values are a strong foundation and take a long time to truly anchor in a big organization. Therefore, continuity is important so that the values are not lost or arbitrarily replaced in the transition from one leadership team to the next. However, this need must not prevent companies from being able to reevaluate the components of the company culture from time to time, to make sure they are still relevant to support the business and that they are useful for the new generation of workers.

Examples of “new” company values that are relevant to companies with the ambition to be good corporate citizens are those related to social and environmental commitment and equality through diversity. Concern regarding these matters has risen dramatically over the last few years among customers, managers, and workers. If a company wants to be an attractive employer today and in the future, it must show in its attitude, values, and actions that it has a genuine interest in contributing in these areas.
