Chapter 11. SAP for IT Managers: Implementation, Planning, Operation, and Support of SAP Systems

This chapter is intended to provide an overview of the methodology, tools, resources, activities, and tasks involved in the implementation of SAP solutions and SAP projects, with focus on classical SAP R/3 Enterprise.

The following sections also describe and explain those aspects involving the planning, operation and support of SAP system landscapes or group of related SAP solutions. Based initially on the AcceleratedSAP, and now in the SAP Solution Manager, the guidelines provided in the next sections show some approaches for the implementation, maintenance, and support of the SAP systems, both before and after these SAP solutions go live in productive operation.
