Collaborative Freewriting

The following challenges work best if you write them as a collaborative effort with other authors. They are designed for impromptu writing and will take approximately 25 minutes. Before you begin writing, take the time, as a group, to discuss strategies. Decide on a name for your group to instill teamwork. Choose a team leader, and make sure every member of the group takes part in the collaboration.

Write Instructions

Write instructions for the following topics. Remember that your readers will follow instructions that involve movement more easily if you include images. (Hand-drawn sketches are fine for freewriting.) Also, remember that you’ll need to test the instructions. For more information on writing procedures, see Chapter 11, “Writing Instructions.”
