Chapter Summary

I discuss several interesting and important directions for the future of global enterprise software delivery. With rapid evolution and adoption of new enterprise software technologies, the pressures on enterprise software delivery organizations are growing. I note the following:

• Cloud-based technologies not only provide new infrastructure choices for solution delivery to clients; they also represent opportunities for the global enterprise software delivery organization to optimize, become more efficient, and coordinate more effectively.

• Global delivery models will continue to evolve, allowing new forms of supply chains and requiring different organizational relationships.
