8.6. Piloting the Danske Bank Agile Delivery Process

Designing and executing an effective piloting phase proves particularly important in any organizational change. For the Danske Bank agile delivery process, the pilot approach was carefully designed to gain as much feedback as possible across a range of different delivery scenarios and to use the feedback to adapt the agile delivery process.

The most important initial choice was not to “invent” pilot scenarios but to select pilots from real projects that were planned or in early stages of delivery. The primary characteristics for suitable pilot project selection were defined in five key areas:

• Project team characteristics

• Project and task characteristics

• Business engagement
