9.5. Results and Observations

The Rational software delivery organization launched a concerted approach toward agile delivery adoption in 2006, and it’s been constantly upgrading and revising this approach from that time. The results of this effort, summarized in Figure 9.19, show a remarkable improvement over the baseline situation observed in 2006.

While there were many influential changes and updates across Rational during this period, the significant improvements on software delivery performance from 2006 to 2009 are directly attributable to the change in the enterprise software delivery organization toward more agile delivery approaches.
