341: Thou shall find a design mentor (and be prepared to be one in the future)

Commentary If you haven’t figured out by this point in the book that the world of design is filled with secrets, there is not much else we can do to help you. Well, I take that back, we can give you an important piece of advice, one that will lead to a lifetime of guidance. Find someone who has been through the battlefield already and form a trusted and cherished professional friendship. Finding a mentor can take a natural path, where you encounter someone more experienced and begin to ask them questions that grow into a tighter bond, or you can search out others via networking or professional organizations whose work you respect and begin a conversation.
